nabim Silver Medal awarded to Dirk Segerius

For outstanding performance in the Flour Milling Advanced Certificate 2013

Dirk Segerius of FPM Cereal Milling Systems has been awarded the nabim Silver Medal for outstanding performance amoungst those who have gained their Flour Milling Advanced Certificate in 2013.

Each year, nabim, the trade association for the UK flour milling industry, runs 7 modular courses to provide millers with an essential understanding and underpinning knowledge of the milling industry. The courses are studied by hundreds of students around the world and lead to the nabim Advanced Certificate in Flour Milling.

It has been many years since the medal has been awarded to an Australian so this is a very special achievement. Dirk was the top performer over all seven examination papers!

Dirk is now invited to attempt to gain the award of the nabim Gold Medal. Each year, the Silver Medal winner is invited to write a thesis, on a subject of importance to the modern flour milling industry, for this award. Recent successful theses have studied: 1st break roll differentials, Mill fumigation, Mill Maintenance, Process control in the mill, Quality control, and the Implementation of Management systems in flour mills.

The award is being engraved in the UK by the National Association of British and Irish Millers Ltd and will be presented to him later in the year.

ATMA congratulate Dirk on his dedication to his studies. We also commend FPM Cereal Milling Systems for supporting Dirk in his achievements.

Congratulations Dirk Segerius!
